Snow peas are like giant mangetout, they can be eaten when immature like a mangetout or left for the peas to swell in the pod.
Sow thinly directly into moist, weed-free soil at a depth of 5cm (2″) in flat drills 15cm (6″) wide in two rows with seed approximately 5cm (2″) apart. (Germination 7-14 days). Allow 60cm (24″) between rows. Support plants with twiggy sticks or pea netting. Water well when the crop is in flower. Grows best in a sunny position in well-cultivated soil containing plenty of organic matter. Sow in intervals during the growing season to ensure a continuous supply of pods. Harvest March-June. Height 100-150cm (39-59″); spread 20-30cm (8-12″).
