Sow thinly direct into soil prepared by digging and raking at a depth of 50mm in flat drills 15cm wide in two rows with seeds approx 5cm apart. Gemrination takes 7-10 days. Allow 60cm between further rows. Support plants with twiggy sticks or pea netting. Grows best in a sunny position in well cultvated soil contianing plenty of well rotted manure or compost.
